Paint Thinner Aerosol

Klean-Strip® Paint Thinner Aerosol is made with mineral spirits and contains no ozone depleting chemicals — so it's easy on the environment and a convenient way to clean paint brushes, tools, and equipment immediately after an oil-based painting project. It’s also an excellent thinner for oil-based paint, stain and varnish — and can be used to clean up oil-based paint splatters and overspray that occur during project.

Can paint thinner be used instead of turpentine to thin artist paint?
Paint thinner evaporates more quickly than mineral spirits, so fumes from turpentine can be more hazardous than those of OMS. Turpentine is also more flammable than mineral spirits. Instead, use either a turpentine substitute or Klean-Strip® OMS as a cheaper alternative to solvents from an art supply store. If you use oil paint mediums that contain damar varnish, you must use turpentine as a solvent.

Can paint thinner be used to thin latex paint?
No, only oil-based paint.

What is the difference between Klean-Strip® Paint Thinner and Klean-Strip®
 Odorless Mineral Spirits?
Odorless Mineral Spirits is a higher-quality, more refined product than regular paint thinner. It has lower odor than paint thinner and leaves less residue when dry.

What steps should be taken to dispose of rags soaked in paint thinner?
Dry the rags flat and then dispose of in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

What is the shelf life of Klean Strip® Paint Thinner Aerosol?
The shelf life is three years unopened and six months after opening.
