All kerosene is not the same — for efficient, comfortable heat, use Klean-Strip® 1-K Kerosene Heater Fuel. Klean-Strip® Kerosene meets ASTM 1-K Specifications and is suitable for all kerosene-burning heaters, lamps and stoves.

What is the difference between Klean-Strip® packaged kerosene and the kerosene I can buy at the pump?
Klean-Strip® 1-K Kerosene is much more highly refined than the pump kerosene. The sulfur content is much lower than most pump grade kerosene that means less in the air after burning or on the wick, which can cause problems with the operation of your heater. Klean-Strip® 1-K Kerosene is refined to within a very tight boiling point, so oily residues are minimized. Overall, this means that Klean-Strip® 1-K Kerosene is cleaner burning and promotes longer wick life. Also, some kerosene is dyed red, which makes handling a mess. Klean-Strip® 1-K Kerosene is water clear, and has a mild odor.

Where do I store Klean Strip® Kerosene?
In a cool, dry area away from sources of heat or sparks, with the cap screwed on tightly.

What is the shelf life of Klean Strip® Kerosene?
The shelf life is three years unopened, six months once the container is opened.
